Turkey welcomes 15 million tourists
According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, more than 15 million people visited the country during the first five months of 2023, and the ministry indicated that about 14 million of them were foreigners and about a million other were Turkish citizens residing abroad, but between January and May of this year, the number of foreign visitors to Turkey increased by 23% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Tourism revenues in Turkey
Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed that tourism revenues increased by 32% in the first quarter of 2023, achieving profits of $8.7 billion, the data stated that 20% of tourism revenues came from Turkish citizens residing outside the country.
